Building Poles:

SPECIES:Southern Yellow Pine
TREATMENT:.60 CCA or 8 lbs. creosote per American Wood Preservers Association Standard for In-Ground Contact.
DIAMETER:By size class limits and may not fall under the minimum any way you measure it. Maximum diameter may be +½"
LENGTH:Plus or minus 6"
CROOK / SWEEP:1" per 8 Linear Feet.
KNOTS:Sound knots not to exceed 4" diameter; total sum of knots' diameter in any given linear foot not to exceed 8 inches.
INSECT DAMAGE:Insect damage, consisting of holes 1/8" or less in diameter, or surface scoring or channeling is permitted. All other forms of insect damage are prohibited.
DECAY:No decay permitted.
SPLITS:No more than 12 inches in length.
BARK:All outer and inner bark to be removed.
MECHANICAL DAMAGE:Depth of chain saw, fork lift, or other machinery damage shall not be more than 1/10 of pole diameter at given location of defect.
APPEARANCE:All poles to appear well manufactured and appear uniformly peeled.
